Our Rating Criteria

Each bookmaker receives a score out of 5 in five categories. Those scores are weighted to produce the overall rating you see beside every brand.

• Licensing & Safety

  25% of score

  Active licence with a recognised regulator, segregated customer funds, encryption and working responsible gambling tools.

• Odds Quality

  25% of score

  Average margins sampled across football, tennis and basketball, compared against the market over a full month.

• Bonus Value

  20% of score

  Headline amount adjusted for wagering requirement, minimum odds and expiry — a big number with harsh terms scores poorly.

• Payout Speed

  20% of score

  Timed real-money withdrawals on every available method, repeated at least three times per bookmaker.

• Support & App

  10% of score

  Live chat response times, quality of answers, plus a week of real use on both iOS and Android.

Our Testing Process

   We open a real account, complete identity verification and record how long each step takes.

   Scores are refreshed every month, and immediately whenever terms, licensing or payout speed change.

From Scores to Rankings

The weighted category scores produce one overall rating out of 5, and rankings follow ratings strictly — the order you see on our lists is the order of the scores, never editorial preference. Currently 28 bookmakers hold a place in our rankings, from 4.9 at the top of the table to 3.5 at the bottom, and a brand that falls below our minimum standards in re-testing is removed rather than ranked lower.

One honest note on licensing: the international bookmakers we currently rank all operate under Curaçao licences, the standard credential for operators serving Africa, Asia and Latin America. Where licensing is equivalent, our safety scoring weighs what we can verify directly — payout conduct over months of tracking, correct settlement against official results, and terms honoured as written. A licence is the entry ticket; behaviour is the score.
